Karin Rivera, Carbon Forestry Expert, visited the Conkouati-Douli National Park in the Republic of Congo. This first field trip to the region demonstrated a strong commitment to developing the REDD+ project, in collaboration with NGO Noé Parcs, the park administrators. Treevive is involved as supplier for the project’s development.
With this visit we ensure the certification of the REDD+ and CCB project under VCS-VERRA standards. This involved data collection, area reconnaissance, and establishing trust with Noé Parcs, crucial for the project’s success.
Karin shares:

Karin also conducted a peatland reconnaissance, critical for developing conservation strategies. These initial activities guide our future actions in the protected area, laying a solid foundation for sustainable forest management and community collaboration.
