The 21st of September marked Zero Emissions Day. This obviously relates to rapid ending the extraction and use of using fossil fuels. Another big source of emissions comes from deforestation and land conversion. We should also increase our focus and efforts on protecting the world’s forests, which are indispensable for stabilising our climate, safeguarding biodiversity, and supporting local communities. At Treevive, these forests are at the heart of everything we do.
In this edition of our Newsletter, we are pleased to share recent milestones:
- DNV Imatis investment in forest carbon solutions,
- Successful validation and verification of the Tavolo Community REDD+ Project in Papua New Guinea,
- Approval of the Más Árboles project by Plan Vivo,
- ARC Peru launched their new website,
- We welcome Caroline van Tilborg to our team,
- Publication of the RBI report: REDD+ | a vital tool to protect tropical forests and fight climate change.
We would also like to highlight Bending the Curve, a recent paper from The Nature Conservancy that puts forward a compelling vision for the role carbon credits can play in corporate net zero strategies, to complement value chain decarbonisation, close the implementation gap where direct mitigation is falling short, and go beyond net zero.
Thank you for your continued support and collaboration. Please reach out to us if you would like to learn more about our projects, explore investment opportunities in bankable tropical forest initiatives, or purchase high-quality carbon credits.
