We are pleased to announce the collaboration between Pachamama Raymi, Treevive and True Green, working together on an impactful initiative for sustainable tree plantations in the Andean highlands of the Cusco region in Peru. In the next 7 years, the Más Árboles (‘More Trees’) project aims to plant 1,900 hectares annually, spread across 34 different communities, totalling 13,300 hectares. This alliance is dedicated to breaking through the vicious circle of environmental degradation and rural poverty, ensuring that rural communities and families improve their living conditions and sustainably manage their natural resources. Through carbon finance, we ensure long-term sustainable plantation management and development, fostering a brighter future for both the people and landscapes of the Peruvian Andes.
Pachamama Raymi represents the farming communities and is responsible for the implementation and management of the project and planting, as well as community development activities within the project. Treevive will deliver finance, technical assistance for achieving carbon certification and is going to market the generated carbon credits. For the initial planting phases, True Green provides additional funding, to start with the planting of trees with the local communities in the region. After this phase, the project will be able to self-finance with revenues from the sale of CO2 certificates, ensuring the sustainable future of the project.
This collaboration is an example of how companies and foundations come together to have a lasting positive impact on the environment and the living conditions of local communities. The parties involved are confident that Más Árboles will not only contribute to environmental reclamation but also serve as an inspiring model for future sustainable projects worldwide.
